      <description>&lt;p&gt;In case you &lt;a href="http://dev.rubyonrails.org/changeset/4929"&gt;missed the changeset&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="http://blog.labnotes.org"&gt;Assaf Arkin&lt;/a&gt;&amp;#8217;s &lt;a href="http://blog.labnotes.org/2006/07/03/assert_select-plugin-for-rails/"&gt;assert_select&lt;/a&gt; has been included in EdgeRails. This officially marks the deprecation of &lt;code&gt;assert_tag&lt;/code&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I think this is a good thing. I always found the syntax of &lt;code&gt;assert_tag&lt;/code&gt; ugly. &lt;code&gt;assert_select&lt;/code&gt; looks to be a fine replacement.&lt;/p&gt;
